Last week, during flight, the captain suddenly clutched his chest and shortly afterward suffered crew incapacitation. I immediately took over control of the aircraft. To assess the captain’s condition, I requested assistance from the passengers. One passenger entered the cockpit to support the captain from behind and monitor his condition. Given the severity of the situation, I determined that diverting to a nearby airport would be safer than continuing to our planned destination, and subsequently initiated a diversion to the nearest suitable airport.
