“MAKAHIKI” RESTAURANT

It’s recommended to make reservations for the restaurant through the official website. This ensures you secure your spot for the character breakfast at Makahiki! Would you like tips on how to navigate the booking process?

Reservations for your desired date start 30 days in advance, at 7 PM Japan time (midnight Hawaii time), so be sure to check and don’t forget!

On the day of your reservation, head directly to the restaurant. At the check-in desk, you’ll need to provide your name, room number, number of people, and any allergies.

After that, you’ll be greeted by Mickey at the photo booth before your meal! This is a great opportunity to take memorable photos. Our family was so excited to meet Mickey first thing in the morning!

If you’d like, a professional photographer can take your pictures with Mickey, which you can download online for a fee. You can also ask the staff to take photos and videos with your own camera or phone.

After the photo session with Mickey Mouse, you will be escorted to your table.

Here is the menu (as of January 2024).
It seems that it used to be a buffet, but it has now transitioned to an a la carte ordering style.
Appetizers:
Yogurt with fruit and granola
Malasadas
Even just these options are quite filling!

First Day

  • Main Dishes:
    • French Toast
    • Loco Moco
    • Waffle Plate (Kids)
      • If you ask the staff for the Belgian waffles in a Mickey shape, you’ll receive adorable waffles with a cute face!

If you can’t finish your meal, they will provide you with a container and a paper bag for takeout.

Second Day

  • Main Dishes:
    • Pancakes
    • Omlett

Everything is definitely very hearty!

In the restaurant, characters will greet you as well. You won’t know which characters will be there until the day of your visit, adding to the excitement.

Our family enjoyed breakfast here for two consecutive days, and we had different characters each time!

Of course, we met Mickey Mouse, but we also encountered:

Day 1: Stitch, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto
Day 2: Goofy, Max, and Pluto

The characters at Makahiki are all themed as if they work there, dressed as chefs and waiters, which adds a unique touch!

They visit your table multiple times, giving you plenty of opportunities to take lots of photos.

Last but not least! This restaurant is available for reservations even if you’re not staying at the resort. It’s no surprise that many people travel from Waikiki to enjoy this breakfast.

It’s a special restaurant where you can meet so many characters and enjoy delicious food. I highly recommend it to everyone!
